The world is facing the unprecedented triple planetary crisis. The COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated this and highlighted significant vulnerabilities worldwide, indicating an urgency for inclusive and collective engagement. Given his continuous commitment addressing global challenges, from climate change to economic upheaval and the SDGs, former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who currently holds the position of the President and Chair of GGGI that co-hosts the GGKP together with UNEP, shares his expectation from Stockholm+50 and emphasises that the only way to address these global challenges is acting together.
