The assessment report evaluates the potential for developing eco-industrial parks (EIPs) in three strategic Ugandan sites under the Greening Uganda’s Urbanization and Industrialization initiative.
Conducted with support from the European Union and in collaboration with national agencies such as UIA and UFZA, the report assesses each site’s infrastructure readiness, environmental conditions, industrial potential, and resource management systems. It identifies opportunities for applying green growth and circular economy principles, including renewable energy integration, waste reduction, water reuse, and industrial symbiosis. The study concludes that while all three locations hold strong industrial prospects, effective implementation will require institutional coordination, environmental safeguards, and targeted investments to align with Uganda’s Vision 2040 and green industrialization goals.
