This factsheet has been developed under the Plastic Waste Partnership (PWP) to support implementation of the plastic waste amendments, adopted in decision BC-14/12 by the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and their Disposal. It is intended to provide an overview of the Harmonized System (HS) codes relevant for monitoring the transboundary movements of plastic waste. Specifically, the factsheet indicates classification of plastic waste according to HS codes, and provide linkages with Basel Convention amendments on plastic waste.
