Developed jointly by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) and UPM Umwelt-Projekt-Management GmbH, this Training of Trainers (ToT) program aims to enhance understanding of climate-resilient opportunities in the sanitation sector and promote citywide inclusive sanitation (CWIS) principles in Africa. The training underscores the relevance and urgency of integrating climate action into sanitation planning and implementation.
Module 3 - The GCF Expected Outcomes for Climate-Resilient Sanitation Projects
This module introduces participants to the Green Climate Fund’s (GCF) investment criteria and expected outcomes for climate-resilient sanitation projects. Through interactive exercises and case studies, participants assess how sanitation initiatives can align with GCF priorities—enhancing their eligibility for funding. The session builds practical understanding of GCF’s investment criteria, explores common challenges and best practices, and highlights opportunities to strengthen project design for greater climate impact and financing success.
