The Bioeconomy Youth Champions will evaluate all applications on an ongoing basis. We strive for a broad variety of views and people and therefore encourage everybody to apply. During the selection we will focus on the interest and action proposals in the bioeconomy regardless of professional experience. Candidates will be contacted by e-mail.

Who are we?

The International Advisory Council on Global Bioeconomy (IACGB) selected eight geographically diverse and aspiring young professionals to be Bioeconomy Youth Champions in 2020. Our first workshop was held as part of the Global Bioeconomy Summit in 2020 (www.gbs2020.net). Please feel free to get to know the current members here https://www.iacgb.net/youth.

What is our aim?

It is our aim to foster the creation of a global and inclusive Bioeconomy Youth Community that seeks to create connections, collaborate, and give a platform to the needs of the broader community. In order to enable this goal and the community regarding bioeconomy, our central approach is to find out the needs and concerns across different regions of the world. Based on this information, we will shape a roadmap for the long-term future of the bioeconomy.

What do we do?

Currently, we are in the process of creating a dedicated LinkedIn group for young professionals and young activists in the bioeconomy sector. The aim of this group is to enable an exchange about thrilling events and scientific advances between the members of the bioeconomy youth community. Furthermore, the group should enable community members to present their own ideas and thus contribute to the formation of a unified community.

For the purpose of identifying which concerns and needs exist in different parts of the world within the youth bioeconomy scene, we have and are running regional workshops with global partners on this topic.

In order to raise awareness for the importance of bioeconomy and the concerns of the next generations, we aim to proactively participate in panel discussions and other events thus we are hoping to play an active role in future events.

All of the information that you provide will be treated as confidential and will only be used for the call evaluation for new members.
