The aim of this consultancy is to support the work of the circularity team, in particular, to the operations of the Global Alliance on Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency (GACERE), and the support to governments in developing, implementing and monitoring circular economy policies. GACERE is an alliance of governments at the global level willing to work together on and advocate for a global just circular economy transition and more sustainable management of natural resources at the political level and in multilateral fora https://www.unep.org/gacere .

Under the supervision of the Programme Officer in charge, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities: 

• Deliver knowledge products (papers, webinars, policy mapping, etc.) on circular economy, in support of the work of GACERE 

• Lead the planning, content development, preparation of documents & presentations, and organization of GACERE-branded events (in-person/online, technical or ministerial events, etc.) 

• Lead external communications efforts of GACERE, inclusive of outreach to non-member governments • Provide technical inputs and advisory to the development, implementation and monitoring of national circular economy strategies, road maps and policy frameworks, in close collaboration with UNEP Divisions and Regional Offices 

• Manage content of the UNEP Circularity Platform 

• Deliver reporting to donors, as required. 

• Supports resource mobilization through the development of project concepts and proposals.

 • Performs other duties as required.
