Good Practices in Developing a National Adaptation Plan (NAP)

On 30 September 2024 (09:00-10:15 CEST), the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is hosting a webinar on "Good Practices in Developing a National Adaptation Plan (NAP)."
During the webinar, GGGI will present on the report Identifying Good Practices in National Adaptation Plans: A Global Review and the NAP Good Practices (NAP-GP) review framework, and share good practices from countries on NAP thematic areas. By highlighting good practices from other countries, the report simplifies the research process and enables countries to draw on knowledge and experience when developing their NAPs.
The event will also highlight key findings on good practices across thematic areas, offer peer-to-peer learning opportunities, particularly for countries in the Global South, and foster stakeholder engagement to support more robust, transparent, and country-driven adaptation planning processes.
Event objectives:
- Enhance awareness and learning on the NAP process and good practices
- Share good practices on different thematic areas learned from the application of the NAP-GP to the 52 NAPs submitted to the UNFCCC
- Present the development of a framework that aims at assessing and elevating the quality of existing (and future) NAPs
- Facilitate peer-to-peer learning between countries, particularly in the Global South, on National Adaptation Planning processes
- Enhance engagement and collaboration among stakeholders to facilitate the report's overall delivery and impact
Target audience:
- Policymakers and practitioners in developing countries who are working in the field of national climate adaptation planning
- Government officials from national and sub-national governments
- Researchers and academics in the Global South and Global North
