NIP Dialogue Series: Voices from the Countries – Sharing Lessons and Good Practices on POPs Management

The Global Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) is proud to launch the NIP Dialogue Series: Voices from the Countries. This dynamic initiative offers a unique opportunity for knowledge exchange and collaborative learning surrounding the GEF ID 10785 project titled "Global Development, Review, and Update of National Implementation Plans (NIPs) under the Stockholm Convention (SC) on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)". Recognizing the crucial role of NIPs in achieving the Convention's objectives, this series of structured interviews aims to capture and disseminate the valuable experiences, challenges, lessons learned, and good practices of countries, regional centers, and technical experts actively engaged in this process.
The NIP Dialogue Series will delve into a range of topics related to NIPs, including but not limited to:
- Developing and updating national POPs inventories for NIPs
- Integrating NIP priorities into national policies and legislation
- Strategies for POPs management in NIP implementation
- Stakeholder engagement and data collection for POPs management
- Gender and social inclusion in POPs` management
In addition to the above-listed provisional topics, GGKP encourages participants to suggest their focus areas based on their expertise and experiences. Through insightful conversations with key actors from around the globe, the series will explore the challenges and opportunities encountered in developing, reviewing, and updating NIPs.
The outputs of the NIP Dialogue Series will be widely disseminated through various channels, including the Global NIP Update website and the Green Forum NIP Update Group. As a result of such interviews, GGKP will produce (1) shortened video recordings of the interviews, (2) full transcripts of the interviews, (3) blog posts, and (4) a short film upon completion of this effort. By making these resources readily accessible, the NIP Dialogue Series aims to contribute to a global community of practice on POPs management and facilitate the country-to-country learning process.
We warmly invite countries, regional centers, academia, and all technical experts working on NIPs or in the area of POPs management to join this global knowledge-sharing effort. Should you be interested in participating in the interview please contact the GGKP Global NIP Update project team to schedule your interview and share relevant materials that illustrate your country’s experiences, challenges, and innovative approaches.
