Youth Innovation in the Digital Age: Driving Sustainability and Climate Action

27 OCT 2025
Seoul

The Youth Innovation in the Digital Age: Driving Sustainability and Climate Action is the first session for the Global Green Growth Week 2025.

This session will convene youth and youth leaders, government ministers, policymakers, development partners, and key stakeholders to spotlight cutting-edge, youth-led digital innovations driving progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate action. The session will place special emphasis on the transformative role of technologies such as digitalization and artificial intelligence (AI) in accelerating these climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts.

It will highlight innovative youth-led initiatives and partnerships that are shaping amore sustainable future, demonstrating that local actions led by young people can catalyze global climate solutions. The session will showcase efforts to engage with governments to develop policy solutions for job creation at the National level e.g. through Green Employment Action Plans, and green entrepreneurship interventions.

In recognition of the vital contributions of young people, this side event will explore pathways for governments to engage with future leaders and support youth-led sustainable solutions. It will also address critical challenges such as the gender-digital divide, underscoring the importance of inclusive, cross-sectoral collaboration in building a sustainable digital future. The session will feature both in-person and virtual attendance options and will be open to all Session participants and interested stakeholders. Leaders from GGGI member countries will join youth voices and other key actors to discuss how digital innovation and when inclusive and equitably supported interventions can serve as a powerful catalyst for achieving the SDGs across diverse sectors.
