Ocean Science for Children...

The deep ocean holds many mysteries that researchers have only just begun to recognize. New technologies and tools have allowed scientists to explore areas of the deep ocean never before accessed, and they have found hundreds of new species and even new ecosystems. Yet, much of the world’s oceans remain unexplored (NOAA, 2019).

This post is dedicated to present and all future generations of Ocean Explorers and Protectors...

Being out there in the ocean, God's creation, it's like a gift He has given us to enjoy. Bethany Hamilton

Those who live by the sea can hardly form a single thought of which the sea would not be part. Hermann Broch

My soul is full of longing for the secrets of the sea, and the heart of the great ocean sends a thrilling pulse through me. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

In one drop of water are found all the secrets of all the oceans. Kahlil Gibran

The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever. Jacques Yves Cousteau

Hark, now hear the sailors cry / smell the sea, and feel the sky / let your soul & spirit fly, into the mystic. Van Morrison

Even in the vast and mysterious reaches of the sea we are brought back to the fundamental truth that nothing lives to itself. Rachel Carson

The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination and brings eternal joy to the soul. Wyland

The sea, the great unifier, is man's only hope. Now, as never before, the old phrase has a literal meaning: we are all in the same boat. Jacques Yves Cousteau

Health to the ocean means health for us. Sylvia Earle

We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop. Mother Theresa
An ocean which thinks there is nothing to learn from a lake is not a wise ocean! Mehmet Murat ildan

Water: A Universal Necessity...

We forget that the water cycle and the life cycle are one. Jacques Cousteau

Water is critical for sustainable development, including environmental integrity and the alleviation of poverty and hunger, and is indispensable for human health and well-being. United Nations

In every drop of water, there is a story of life. Leena Arif

Water is the lifeblood of our bodies, our economy, our nation and our well-being. Stephen Johnson

The water cycle is the path that all water follows as it moves around Earth in different states. Liquid water is found in oceans, rivers, lakes—and even underground. Solid ice is found in glaciers, snow, and at the North and South Poles. Water vapor—a gas—is found in Earth’s atmosphere (NASA, 2019).

Earth's water is always in movement, and the natural water cycle, also known as the hydrologic cycle, describes the continuous movement of water on, above, and below the surface of the Earth. Water is always changing states between liquid, vapor, and ice (USGS, 2019).

Water is a vital natural resource without which life would cease to exist. Water conservation and resources management represent some of the most critical environmental issues currently facing humankind (UNOOSA, 2018).

The water you touch in a river is the last of that which has passed, and the first of that which is coming; thus it is with time. Leonardo Da Vinci

Water is the most critical resource issue of our lifetime and our children's lifetime. The health of our waters is the principal measure of how we live on the land. Luna Leopold

This land, this water, this air, this planet - this is our legacy to our young. Paul Tsongas

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children. Chief Seattle
