One year after its adoption in Bonn, the Global Framework on Chemicals launched its first call for projects on 1 October 2024 targeting the safe and sustainable management of chemicals and waste. Selected projects will receive USD300,000-800,000 for up to three years to support transformative change to prevent and minimize harm from chemicals and waste and to protect the environment and human health, including vulnerable groups and workers. 

The Global Framework for Chemicals Fund launches periodic calls for applications. The first round of applications is open from 1 October 2024 to 31 January 2025.

This year's first GFC discussion provided an overview of the Fund's objectives and the application process for the first round of funding.
