A consultant is sought to support the GGKP in the execution of the FARM Global Child Project, and specifically to support FARM Global Child Project team activities relating to project management and reporting, communications, events and community engagement.
Purpose and Scope of Assignment
The specific tasks under this assignment will include supporting:
a) Project management and reporting, under supervision of Project Manager
- Support project budget monitoring and liaise with administration team for budget forecast and quarterly updates.
- Liaise and follow up with administration team on procurement and recruitment requests and approvals, and liaise with partners to gather necessary documents for due diligence procedures.
- Support the production of quarterly and annual FARM Programme Progress reports, including compiling and organising information from Child Projects.
- Draft meeting minutes, discussion points, etc.
b) Communication and knowledge management, under supervision of Communications Specialist and Knowledge Management Specialist
- Support the set up, launch and maintenance of the FARM initiative page and website.
- Support the regular updating of the FARM website and initiative page with relevant content including news articles, newsletters, blogs, event, etc.
- Update FARM social media communication and outreach channels on a regular basis.
- Monitor both offline and online communication channels for FARM to ensure alignment with the programme objectives.
- Upload knowledge products to the FARM knowledge library.
c) Events and community engagement, under supervision of Communications specialist
- Support the development and maintenance of both the internal and external Green Forum FARM community spaces.
- Support exchanges on the Green Forum FARM Communities of Practice, including updating new events, publications, case studies, key findings and recommendations from the FARM child projects.
- Support the organization of webinars, trainings and key FARM events/meetings.
d) Any other related GGKP and/or FARM tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Advanced University degree (master's or equivalent) on international development, sustainable development, business administration, communications or closely related area is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience supporting project management, implementation and reporting activities is required.
- Experience in sustainable development, agriculture or other topics related to the FARM focus areas is desirable.
- Knowledge and experience of communications and data analysis is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal English proficiency is required, in addition to the ability to independently generate clear and concise content.
- Very good Microsoft Office skills are required.
- Proven ability to work in a multitasking environment.
- Experience of working in an international and intergovernmental organization would be an advantage.
Languages: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised excellent written and verbal English proficiency is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

About FARM
The Global Environment Facility (GEF) programme, “Financing Agrochemical Reduction and Management (FARM) is a new GEF funded programme that aims to strengthen the sound management of agricultural chemicals and their waste, through better control, and reduction and/or elimination. To achieve this aim, the overall objective of the FARM programme is to generate a framework of knowledge and tools for financing sustainable agriculture practices, and that will address incentivising financing through adjustments to key policies, regulations, standards, norms, and market innovations.
The FARM programme is being implemented by UNEP with GGKP as an executing agency for the Global Child Project. There are seven Child Projects within the programme in three regions, Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America, for which the executing agencies are UNEP/Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Asian Development Bank (ADB), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and UNIDO. The role of the Global Child Project is to coordinate the efforts of the child projects, promote knowledge generation and sharing, and lead engagement with international stakeholders.
