Ashok Kumar Thanikonda is the India Program Lead at the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), where he oversees the Asia Low Carbon Buildings Transition project and leads sustainable finance work in India.
Over the past 14 years, he has worked extensively at the intersection of clean energy, electric mobility, and the circular economy. Before joining GGGI, he managed Intellecap's Circular Apparel Innovation Factory to advance climate-resilient, circular value chains in the global South.
Earlier, he spent nearly a decade at the World Resources Institute's Green Power Market Development Group, helping scale up renewables through transaction support, demand aggregation, policy advocacy, and innovative business models.
He holds an M.Sc. in Natural Resources Management from TERI University and a B.Sc. in Microbiology, Genetics, and Chemistry from Osmania University.
